Betta Fish Spotlight: Misha

Oh, my Misha. My silly, wiggly, Misha. A fin rot survivor, he has always been wiggly, active, and crazy, even as we negotiated a lower price for him due to his illness.

As you might have guessed, Misha is named after the Supernatural actor Misha Collins. My sister named him. We spent probably two days trying to come up with a name for him. We thought about Teal'c, after a character from Stargate: SG-1; we thought about Fisha Collins, a play on "fish," and "Misha Collins." Finally, as a compromise. I'd honestly hate to name my fish "Fisha."

Misha has only ever built maybe...three? bubble nests since we got him. He does not flare, but he will bite you if you put your finger in his tank. It feels like sand paper briefly brushing against your skin. He's a tiny boy, with less back fin having grown back from his fin rot than I would have liked, but he's feisty and smart and I love him a lot.

He likes his pineapple; he likes to sit both inside it and on top of it. He also enjoys hiding face-first in his rock. He avoids swimming through his hoop if he can help it. He'd like very much to just stick his head through and act like he doesn't have to go all the way through. The turd.

He's a wiggly, zoomy baby with a lot of spunk and personality. He never stops swimming. He refuses to build nests and act like a "normal" betta, but I love him anyway.
