Betta Fish Spotlight: Candace

She had been at Petco for three months when her girl, Grace, found her. So long, she had lost all of her color!!  But within a week of getting her into a new tank, she was already as colorful as ever! But don't let that beauty or her age fool you, Candace is a force to be reckoned with--unless you're a snail. Her mom even calls her "Candace the Demon!"
The fish of the hour: Candace!

Koi Fish
Candace is what is known as a female koi betta, a betta fish bred
to look like a koi fish--you know, those big, colorful fish hanging out in ponds everywhere. That's why she has spots of black on a red background. But remember, it's not so much the colors as it is the spots--both koi bettas and koi fsh can come in multiple colors.

On Grace's Instagram page, @gb_and_fish, there are tons of videos of Candace and her fishy siblings, Stacy, Ferb, Baljeet, Bufford, and Phineas. (For all of those Phineas and Ferb fans out there, you might recognize Grace's naming inspiration.)
